What is that feeling you’ve been having lately?

If the answer is “PARANOIA”, then perhaps our latest short can help.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE: “BIRDS”

Our latest short film answers the question: “Are birds out to ‘get’ us?”

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  “Dreams”

After a long hiatus, we return with a visit to the world of dreams. We used a lot of twitter suggestions on this one, some of them in ways that are backwards and subliminal. (Pay close attention, if you sent us a suggestion 6 months ago, we may have used it in this one.)

As always, we are hungry for fresh suggestions for future episodes. Contact us via twitter (@LoneCornmeal) if you’d like to influence us with a word, a phrase, a notion or a veiled threat.

A SPECIAL HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE

The Lone Cornmeal Machine takes a moment to send a Holiday Message to anyone who might be interested in such a thing.  By all means, keep sending suggestions via twitter (@lonecornmeal) because we might return at any moment with a new episode, and your suggestion might be the thing that causes it to happen.  We will be back with infrequent new installments in 2012, one of which might trigger the end of the world.

ALSO: did you know that you can subscribe to The Chris Gethard Show as a video podcast on iTunes? And that you can download all of the episodes for FREE? This is something you should do. Also, be sure to tune in to tonight’s show, at 11pm on MNN if you have cable in Manhattan or at thechrisgethardshow.com if you have Internet, which you clearly do if you are reading this.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  ”DEATH”

"Why am I so scared of death?" was the suggestion, and the answer is contained within this much-anticipated 14th installment of The Lone Cornmeal Machine. As you may have realized over the course of the past two months, we are no longer a “weekly” that you can set your watch by, but have shifted our model to “semi-infrequent.” This means we make these whenever we want, and they will be released when you least expect them. Or when you MOST expect them. The point is, your expectations will be a faulty barometer in predicting when there will be a new one.

There are more in the pipeline, so perhaps you will see one in December. By all means, keep sending suggestions via twitter (@lonecornmeal) because that is the fuel for our machine. Without fresh suggestions, we’ll be stuck fishing through a bunch of old, stale ones, and nobody wants that, right?

ALSO: did you know that you can subscribe to The Chris Gethard Show as a video podcast on iTunes? And that you can download all of the episodes for FREE? This is something you should do. Last night’s episode was fairly EPIC and has to be seen to be believed.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  “BLIND DATE”

ALL FOURS - Season 6, Episode 22: “Blind Date” (Season Finale). Luther sets a trap for Veronica. TV-MA.

The suggestion was “Blind Date” and here you have it— an episode of the same name from the long-running dog soap opera from the tail end of its sixth season. We are uncertain as to the Original Air Date, but we can only assume that it fueled a fair amount of “water cooler” chat throughout the summer as people anticipated the cliff-hanger’s resolution at the beginning of the fall season.

AN ANNOUCEMENT, OF SORTS: The Lone Cornmeal Machine has reached the end of its original 13-week run, and we are going on a brief hiatus starting at the end of this sentence.  Okay, now that we are officially “on hiatus”, we can tell you this much: we will be back, but most likely it will no longer be a weekly, regularly scheduled endeavor. Instead, we will appear without warning, when you least expect us, reveal our latest creation, and quickly go back into hiding.

In the meantime, keep sending suggestions via twitter @lonecornmeal. And don’t be discouraged if your suggestion hasn’t been used yet— we have long memories, and will always go through any of the unused ones in search of inspiration.

A big thank you to all who have been supporting us in our initial batch, especially Chris Gethard, whose amazing show is the very reason that the Machine exists. If you haven’t been watching, get thee to thechrisgethardshow.com and check it out! Unless you hate fun. If you hate fun, maybe it’s not the show for you.

Do not worry. We’ll be back to fight again someday. Probably in October.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  ”MON RAYON TRACTEUR (MON AMOUR)”

Mr. Adam Conover suggested (in quotes) “My Tractor Beam.” So that is, indeed, the title of this week’s short film.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  ”THE TRUE NATURE OF TIME”

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  ”BEEF”

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE: “LETTERS ON THE KEYBOARD”

Michael Kayne asked The Lone Cornmeal Machine to tell him “how the letters on keyboards came to be organized the way they are.” We feel we have answered the question definitively.

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  “HEAT WAVE!”

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE: “A DAY AT THE ZOO”

Mitchell Stephen Fesh suggested: “a day at the zoo.” What if it was the day when all the animals escaped? And what if it turned out to be the worst day EVER?

THE LONE CORNMEAL MACHINE:  ”MILK”

The suggestion was made:  "find an alternate use for Milk."  The Lone Cornmeal Machine consulted its friends at the American Milk Institute, who provided it with more than one.
